“There MUST be a better way...”
Our Story
We are Life Strategy Guides who have facilitated over 500 clients through multi-day, intensive one-on-one coaching sessions to discover our client’s unique giftedness and to determine the best, most fulfilling direction for their lives. We are married and enjoy using our experience to help our three boys navigate life well. However, we unexpectedly realized with our own graduating high schooler that things start to get messy once you throw in the pressure of a college decision to them!
Add to this hormonal mix:
The complete bombardment of college mail (BIG business)
The overwhelming amount of university applications, essays, and deadlines
The sheer quantity of time and money spent on college visits, and
The pressure of making a $100,000+ decision to someone - who has most likely never made more than a $100 decision before now!
These young adults, who barely know themselves and who usually can’t name their unique giftedness (most adults struggle with this!), are expected to answer the question of “Where are you going to college?” The high price tag and expectations attached to that answer often produce confusion, anxiety, and exhaustion.
“There must be a better way!”
Utilizing our vast experience, we set about to find a better way to assist upperclassmen to navigate this pivotal decision point: to flip the starting point of the questions from “Where are you going to school?” and “What are you going to study?” to begin by answering the questions of “What makes me unique?” and “How do I best thrive?”. We come alongside your student to discover their unique dreams and giftedness, and then to apply that insight to create a customized filtering system to determine a field of study and a college that fits them best. We come alongside parents to engage and equip you and your student to deeper self-awareness and direction through a proven process that is life-giving and directional. We come alongside all parties to prevent needless application fees, unnecessary college visits, and wasted anxiety to instead inspire peace of mind, empowerment, and confidence.
Our oldest son is now happily integrated at his university of choice in a challenging field of study that makes him come alive. While we deeply miss him, he understands who he is and why he is thriving.
